Notice reflection in glass doors--a lady viewing the New York skyline before 9-11.

"Roof Garden" was created while Hike worked in New York City for the Picasso Foundation.  While this imaginative piece of art does not depict a real place, if one were able to stand on the imagined balcony and overlook the city, this is exactly what one would see prior to 9-11 with the Chrysler Building, The World Trade Center, and the Statue of Liberty gracing the skyline.

The detail in the skyline shows up much more in the actual prints.  The Statue of Liberty can be subtly seen in the larger view between the two column on the left.

A native Tennessean of French and Cherokee ancestry, Hike Mallicote began his study of art at Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida. After a period of private study and a tour of the Midwest painting murals, he went on to New York City where he became immersed in an intense program of independent study.

After mastering lithography and etching, Hike embarked upon pioneering his own technique, one based on the seventeenth century French art of pochoir.

From conception to finish each of Hike’s creations are a reflection of his perfection ist standards and mystical viewpoint.

He presently creates by commission and prints pochoir from his studio In Tennessee where he resides in a simple, natural setting with his wife, Barbara.
